Daniel H. CAHILL April 2, 1920~September 26, 2011 Daniel Herbert Cahill was born in Seattle to William Starrs and Hertha Todd Cahill. He grew up on Hunts Point in Bellevue. Dan was an Eagle Scout, went to Garfield HS and later graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in industrial engineering. Dan was a pilot in the U.S. Marine Corps. He taught flying at Corpus Christi and Pensacola. After the war, he was attached to the U.S. embassy in China. In 1949, Dan married Mary Kinkead of St. Paul, MN. They had six children and grew up in the house Dan built in Sibleywood. Mary, his wife of 58 years, sister Peggy, and three brothers, Dave, Bob and Todd, preceded Dan in death. He is survived by his second wife, Melanie, children Rob (Marta), Bill, Ginny, Doug (Michelle), Dicker (Carolyn), and Martha (Frank), and 17 grandchildren. Dan was interred at Tahoma National Cemetery on October 17 with full military honors.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
