GREENSBORO - Minnie Covington Fuller Alston was born March 12, 1924 in Rockingham County, NC to the late Ellis and Annie Mae (Smith) Covington. She departed this earthly life on July 5, 2012. She attended W.B. Wicker School in Sanford, NC. In 1942, Minnie married James A. Fuller. To this union one son was born, James E. Fuller. After moving to Greensboro in 1954, Minnie joined Mount Zion Baptist Church. In 1971, she married James W. Alston and remained an active and faithful member at Mount Zion until her passing.

To celebrate her life and cherish her memories, she leaves one son, James E. Fuller (Venoris Jean); three granddaughters, Donna (Daryl) Stundhal of Billings, Montana, LaReeta (Tommy) Little and Victoria (Robbie) McNeill; three great-grandchildren, Thomas (TJ) Little, Shante' McNeill and James (Jay) McNeill; one great-great-grandson, Jeremiah Randolph (all of Greensboro): three sisters, Muzetta Donaldson of Greensboro, Thelma Lyons of Brooklyn, NY, and Lona Covington of Raeford; one brother, Sylvester Covington of Greensboro; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives; and a special sister in CHRIST, Bessie Harris. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, James A. Fuller, sisters, Louise Covington Fox and Eleanor Covington McDougal, and brothers Ernest, James, George and Henry Covington.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Bishop George W. Brooks. Family visitation will begin at 11:00 am with the service at 11:30 am.

Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park.
