Marvin T. Dutch Eckhart, 75, of Salisbury Twp., died Sunday, October 7, 2012, in Manorcare, Allentown. He was the husband of Janice J. (Fischer) Eckhart, for 52 years. Born in Palmerton, he was a son of the late Malhon and Dorothy (Schmick) Eckhart. He honorably served his country with the U.S. Navy, while serving on the USS Kitty Hawk. Dutch was a plumber for many years and a Jack of All Trades. He was a volunteer fireman for 10 years at Emmaus Fire Co., life member of Salisbury Fire Co. and was past vice president of Salisbury Youth Association. He was also a member of the American Legion, and attended Jerusalem Eastern Salisbury Evangelical Lutheran Church. Dutch enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, golfing and camping. He was an avid bowler and a Iron Pigs, Phillies, Oakland Raiders, and Dale Earnhardt fan. Survivors: In addition to his loving wife, Janice, are sons, Glenn and Daryl L. Eckhart both of Salisbury Twp.; granddaughters, Maggie, Autumn and Danika. Services: 8 p.m., Wednesday, October 10, in Cantelmi Funeral Home, 1311 Broadway, Fountain Hill, where the family will receive relatives and friends 6 to 8 p.m. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Dutchs name to the Salisbury Youth Assoc., 1140 Salisbury Rd.
