John LaGalles Obituary

John J. LaGalles Ballston Spa - John J. LaGalles 59 of Ballston Spa, passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2012. Born in Ballston Spa, September 19, 1953, he was the son of the late Joseph and Beatrice LaGalles. He was a graduate of Ballston Spa High School and Saratoga BOCES auto mechanic and advanced welding program. He attended General Motors Training School in Terrytown, NY. John was a construction foreman at Carver Construction for over 20 years. John was a life member of Eagle Matt Lee Fire Co No 1 where he served as Captain in 1978-79 and 1987-1988, Chief from 1985-87 and President from 2006-2007. He took numerous courses at the NYS Fire Academy in Montour Falls, NY. He enjoyed fishing, boating and watching Nascar. John was loved dearly by his family and admired by his many friends. He will be missed beyond measure. He was a big man with an even bigger heart. He was predeceased by his sister, Patricia and his brother, Paul LaGalles. John is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Abel LaGalles, his children, Laura Stark and her husband Jake, Gregory LaGalles, and Allison LaGalles, all of Ballston Spa, his sisters, Betty McCullough and her husband Joseph of Ballston Spa, and Nancy Kardash and her husband David of Remsen, sister in laws, Elizabeth Abel of White Bear Lake, MN, Jacqueline Ristau and her husband John of Sydney, Australia, and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday, November 4, from 12-2pm at Armer Funeral Home, Inc 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa. A memorial service will follow at 2pm. Burial will be in Ballston Spa Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Eagle Matt Lee Fire Co No 1, PO Box 4, Ballston Spa, NY 12020.
