Louis H. Biglia
1928-2012 PITTSFIELD Mr. Louis H. Biglia, 84, formerly of 176 Columbus Avenue, Berkshire Town Apartments, Pittsfield, Mass. died Friday, December 28, 2012 at Springside Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center in Pittsfield.
He was born in Pittsfield, Mass. on November 3, 1928, a son of the late Battista and Dora (Demers) Biglia. He attended Pittsfield schools and graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1946. He was a veteran of World War II in the United States Navy. He was employed by the General Electric Company as a draftsman for 18 years and for several years was employed by Charles Russell Lawn Maintenance. He retired in 1986.
Survivors include several cousins and longtime friends Anita Gutmann and her husband, Peter, of Adams, Mass., Charles Russell of Pittsfield, Mass. and Gladys Traver of Pittsfield, Mass. He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church and had a been a communicant of St. Mary's Church.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Services for Louis H. Biglia will take place Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 10 a.m. at the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201 with the Rev. Monsignor Michael A. Shershanovich, pastor of St. Joseph's Church officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday from 9 a.m. to the time of the service at the funeral home. Longtime friends of Louis H. Biglia would like to thank the staff at Springside Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center for the wonderful care, patience, and understanding shown him during his time there.
