Oden (Rucker) Betty Jo Rucker Oden was born on the 26th of August, 1936 in Columbus, Ohio to Mason and Virginia Rucker. She died on January 27, 2013. She attended The Ohio State University and graduated with a B.A. Degree in Elementary Education in 1957. She was initiated into the AKA Sorority during her sophomore year. She earned a Masters Degree in Education from Wright State University in 1981. Betty's first marriage was to Saxon McRae in 1958. From this union, Cathy (1962) and Scott (1966) were born. Betty and Saxon were divorced in 1980. Betty's second marriage was to Foster Lee Oden in 1985, in Dayton, Ohio. In 2001, Foster and Betty Oden moved from Dayton, Ohio to Sun Lakes, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her sister, Gail and Dan Jones; daughter, Cathy Hill; son, Scott and Ludmila McRae; grandchildren, Bailey McRae, Cameron McRae and Zoe Hill. Memorial Service will be held on February 9 at 2 p.m. at Saint Matthew's Episcopal Church, 901 W. Erie St., Chandler, AZ 85225.

The memorial service was beautiful. Chris and I will surely miss her. Our prayers are with Foster and the rest of the family.

My heartfelt sympathy to the family of Betty Jo. We were friends in Cols, O, attended church and studied dance together. Many fond memories with lots of laughter. God bless this sweet lady who always had a smile on her face and a kind word for everyone.
