One of my first jobs was working for Otto at Whirlpool. He was an extraordinary gentleman. I'll never forget when he told me that I was a good worker...he just wished I would show up everyday. I was working 2nd shift that night that he received a call regarding the fate of his son, Robert, who lost his legs in Vietnam. I watched him weep and let me tell you it was one of the saddest moments in my life. I had so much respect for Otto...what a great guy. I only wished I knew he played golf...I would have loved to have joined him for a round or two just to reminisce. Rest in peace Otto.
