Not sure what to say?

We lived in Washington heights with you next door. Kept you when pRents visited France. Greg you played with Shane. So sorry for both of your losses. Live in Alabama now . Patsy Turner and Shane Balhatchet

I met Ed in DC for his lecture and book signing on Jimmy Winkfield. We had a great time talking about African American jockeys. What a source of information he was! My condolences to his family.

I didn't know Ed Hotaling. But I was deeply moved by his obit published in the NY Times. His scholarship and zeal to expand Americans' awareness of the full history of this country's exploitation of slaves and their descendants make a remarkable legacy.

PLEASE ACCEPT MY SINCERE CONDOLENCE,KNOW THAT (PSLM.37:29) HOLDS OUT A PROMISE THAT WE ALL LOOK FORWARD TO.....~(LIFE)~

I would like to express my sincere sympathy for the passing of your love one. May you find peace and comfort from the God who comfort those who mourn. Isa 66:13,

Ed and I were fraternity brothers in ATO at Syracuse. When he joined the Daily Orange I named him "Scoop" Hotaling. Boy,did he run with that. Our prayers are with Ed and his family.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Hotaling at Churchill Downs in Louisville, KY - he was very kind and bought the story of Jimmy Winkfield to life - We are grateful for his dedication to the "STORY'. Thank you Mr. Hotaling.

Sweet memories, hilarious stories from Ed have carried us since SU '50's. Jim and Jan Porter
