Dear Barnum Family, You all have been on my mind for the last few months and I didn't know how to reach you. This is the saddest way but it allows me to say publicly how much your family gave to me by including me in your lives in my teenage years. Your father's easygoing nature, teasing, and gentle laughter gave me an entirely new view of male role models. Your mother was so loving, with that gorgeous smile and so easygoing also. They were an island for me during turbulent seas and your friendship was like sun coming through the clouds. You all were a blessing. Please know that I send you big hugs, caring thoughts and prayers.
