Bob, Was my cousin. He and I served in Vietnam in different Army units, but at the same time. Both of us were able to travel to our respective units and spend several days chilling out.
I remember spending fun times with him, Steve and Keith during our summer vacations and at family outings.
The only time I got bit by a goose was in Farmington while we were walking back to his house. He knew what was coming down the pike and hauled***. Me on the other hand had no clue geese would bite until it started chasing me and nipping at my butt. We all got a big laugh out of that!
I moved out of state in 1971 and only saw Bob when I visited Mom and Dad and the Holbrooks got together, or when there was a funeral. It was at my older brother Jim's memorial Service in June of this year I last saw Bob. Because I had been asked to officiate, he and I didn't get any time to really talk. He told me there where a few things he wanted to talk to me about and some questions he wanted to ask me and we parted promising to call one another. Two months later he passed on to the Fiddler's Green. Let this be a lesson to all....make good on your promises, life is too short!
I'll miss you Cuz!
