Lance Bump, 54, of Madison, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013, at the Lake Health Medical Center-Madison Campus.
He was born July 27, 1959, in WaKeeney, Kan., to Janette (Jackson) and S. Wayne Bump, and married Caryl (Bender) Bump on March 31, 2001, in Madison Village.
Lance served in the U.S. Navy and worked hard to become a licensed reactor operator at the Perry Nuclear Power Plant. Lance had a great sense of humor and an incredible smile. He enjoyed golf, video gaming and the Denver Broncos, but he deeply loved his family. He was a loving husband, and a devoted father and grandfather. He loved his family beyond words…his kids were his life, as well as his grandbabies, who called him "Poppa."
He is survived by wife, Caryl Bump of Madison; daughters, Sherry (Ryan) Lardie and Stephanie Bump; sons, Zachary (Deejai) Bump, Michael (Megan) Richards, Steven Richards and David Bump; grandchildren, Destiny, Lance, and Caragh; parents, S. Wayne and Janette (Jackson) Bump; grandmother, Alice Bump; brother, S. Lee (Trish) Bump; sister, Gail Longstaff; brothers-in-law, Ronald (Tina) Bender and Donald Bender; mother-in-law, Alice Bender; and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013, at The Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., Madison.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 23, at the funeral home. Final resting place will be at North Madison Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to the Bump family.

Oh Daddy, why did you have to leave us this soon? I can't believe this is real, yet I know it is & I know that we have to find a way to deal with you not being here like you were. Don't worry about Mom though. We will take care of her as much like you did as we can. I love you so much. So, so, so much. You are the most amazing Dad that I could ever have. Daddy, please watch over us.
