This is heartbreaking to hear! My third grade teacher that moved me to tears when he came to my house to see me off as I moved across the country! I remember the day like it were yesterday and try to move my own third graders with a gentle heart as I followed in the footsteps of Mr. Sare who touched my life so long ago! ??

Mr. Sare- what a great teacher and role model. I vividly remember my 5th grade class he shared the room with Mrs. Nakashima. We were a handful back then and Mr. Sare made us feel safe and sound each day. My blessings go out to his family.

My brother and I were sharing stories about Conrad Noll over winter break. Mr. Sare was our favorite teacher. He inspired me and gave me so much confidence. He would even have us perform for the class, our dance routines, he had heard about. I decided I needed to let him know that I am now a teacher due to his inspiration. Mr. Sare, I am so sorry I was not able to let you know personally. I am deeply saddened by this news, but I want your family to know how much you touched the lives of my family. We all still rave about Mr. Sare, "the cool teacher," some 38 years later! Forever in our memory! Jacqueline Hubbell

Wow. What an amazing teacher. I remember I did a report on Junipero Serra - and for the rest of my time around him Mr. Sare would call me "Junipero Kinsey" - he was my favorite teacher of all time - and I am very sorry to hear of his passing. A wonderful wonderful man...

Mr. Sare was my third grade teacher at Conrad Noll Elementary School in Fremont in 1964. He was my favorite teacher of my school career. When an injury forced me to change professions, I knew I wanted to go in to teaching because of the impact teachers like Mr. Sare had on me. Before I was hired full time by Fremont USD in the early 1990's, I had the opportunity to substitute for Mr. Sare's class. I told the students that Mr. Sare had been my teacher years ago and that he was my favorite teacher. Some of the students said he was also their favorite. I thought how amazing that after so many years Mr. Sare was still impacting students lives.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the Sare family.
P.S. Mr. Sare, I've never forgotten that Italy is the "boot" shaped country in Europe.

Dear Sare Family: So sorry to hear about Gene's passing; we were good friends in Fremont for a number of years. We will always remember he and Marty McCoy driving our U-Haul truck to Provo when I went back to BYU. We also named our son Gene, born in Fremont in 1964. May you rest in peace!
