Joseph A., 85, of Ringwood, passed away on Friday, November 1, 2013. Prior to retiring Joseph worked for Hackensack Public Service as a Radio Technician for 33 years. He was involved in the Civil War Reenactment Club. Joseph was also a volunteer Fireman for Ringwood, NJ and a coach and referee for the Ringwood Football Little League team. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. Beloved husband of Eleanor Sgro (nee Basile) for 63 years. Loving father of Patricia Sgro and John Joseph Sgro and his wife Susan. Cherished grandfather of Alexander C. Delancy and Kimberly C. Santos. Adored great-grandfather of Justin L. Delancy, Bryanna D. Santos, and Madelynn A. Santos. Devoted son of the late Giuseppe and Carmela Sgro. Predeceased by his siblings John, Jimmy, Dominick, Carmine, and Mary. Joseph is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Funeral service will be held 10 AM on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack, NJ 07601. Entombment will follow at Garden of Memories, 300 Soldier Hill Road, Paramus, NJ, 07652. The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM. I am so SORRY for your loss .
No words can express how you are feeling at this time .
My condolences go out to you and your family . John , your dad must have been a great man for raising you to be the man that you are today . I have never met him and I wish that I could have . Always remember him and keep him close in your heart . Never ever dwell on any of the bad times & always treasure the times that you had together .
