Born on August 27, 1923 in Philadelphia, PA. Entered into rest July 15, 2014 in Sunnyvale, CA.
Graduated from Penn State University with a degree in chemical engineering. WWII veteran; served in Europe with General Patton's Third Army. Employed at the AEC. Was on site for an atomic bomb test-firing in the Nevada desert. Employed in aerospace. Witnessed the launch at Cape Canaveral of the first man to walk in space. Member Sirs Branch 153.
Survived by his loving wife Dorothy, sons Dale and David Finochio, daughter Ruth Perkins (Ed), grandchildren Rachel, Dan and Hannah Finochio, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Larry and Jeanette Christian, nieces Becky Baumann (Frank), Ann Langan (John), Renee Lesniak (Pete) and nephew Steve Christian (Oy).
Friends are invited to a Visitation Monday, July 21, 2014 from 7:00p.m - 9:00p.m at LIMA & CAMPAGNA SUNNYVALE MORTUARY, 1315 Hollenbeck Ave., Sunnyvale. Graveside Service Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at 10:00a.m at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Los Altos. In lieu of flowers, donations appreciated to St. Jude's Hospital.
