Charles "Chuck" E. Allen June 20, 1923 - July 28, 2014 OSCEOLA - Charles Eugene "Chuck" Allen, age 91, of Osceola, passed away Monday, July 28, 2014, at Kindred Valley View Nursing Home. Chuck was born June 20, 1923, in Jasonville, Indiana, to the late Charles W. and Jessie (Neal) Allen. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Allen, his children, James Jordan and Toni Aldridge, and his siblings, Rex and Rita. Survivors include his children, Toby (Terrell) Personette of South Bend, Larry (Cheryl) Carlysle of Massachusetts, Terry Jordan of Portage, Indiana, and Debra Hensley of Osceola. Also surviving are several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, as well as his brother, Jim (Jane) Allen, and sister, Hester Landis. There will be no visitation or services. Chapel Hill Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Chuck enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1942 and served as a tail gunner during WW II. He was honorably discharged in 1945. Chuck was employed for many years with the Studebaker Corporation and after it closed, became a truck driver until his retirement. He was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed camping and fishing with his wife, Betty. Chuck also loved reading, playing cards, working on cars, and building things. He was also a longtime member of the VFW Post #360 and the American Legion Post #308. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Southern Care Hospice, 310 West McKinley Avenue, Suite 340, Mishawaka, Indiana 46545. Debbie and Maria, uncle Charlie will always be in my thoughts. I will always remember trying to "squeeze" his favorite fishing spots out of him. He is sitting with Aunt Betty, Dad and Mom by a camp fire and talking about the old times. Prayers continue for you both. Love you
