Ben Davis Deason, age 81, of Stockdale, TX passed away August 16, 2014 in Seguin, TX. He was born January 18, 1933 to Ray Horace Deason and Grace Mae Ratcliff. Ben worked for the United States Postal Service for 29 years of which 25 years he was the Postmaster in Stockdale, TX, member of the Stockdale Chamber of Commerce, Kiddie Game Chairman 1970-1988, Fire Chief 1980-1989, American Legion, Elks Lodge, Charter member of Stockdale EMS, Board of Director and President of the Stockdale Branch of Hochheim Prairie, Board of Directors of Wilson County Appraisal District and a member of 1st Baptist Church of Stockdale. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Joe Deason and sister Wanda Miller. He is survived by his wife Helen Irene (Praytor) Deason, daughter: Rena Mills and husband Terry, sons: David Deason and wife Gina all of Stockdale, TX, Wayne Deason and wife Paige of Floresville, TX; grandchildren: Stephanie Vignal and husband Cody, Shannon Mills, Wesley Deason, Krystin Deason, Kayla Mills, Trevor Deason, Jean Deason, Taylor Deason; great-granddaughter: Claire Sylvester; sister: Goldie Axon of San Jose, CA; numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 20th, from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at the 1st Baptist Church of Stockdale.
