Irvin J. Krauss - SAVANNAH - Irvin Joseph Krauss, 85, of Savannah, Georgia, died Sunday evening, August 31, 2014, at his home. Born in Darien, Georgia, he was a son of the late William Leonard Krauss and the late Leona Crumley Krauss. Mr. Krauss was of the Catholic faith. He was a United States Army veteran. Mr. Krauss earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and graduated from the UGA College of Pharmacy, Class of 1958. He owned and operated Krauss Ogeechee Drugs for 35 years. Mr. Krauss loved his family, golfing and fishing. Surviving are one daughter, Karen K. Bazemore and her husband, Dr. Jim Bazemore, of Savannah, Georgia; two sons, Scott Krauss of Jacksonville, Florida, and Leonard Krauss and his wife, Donna Krauss, of Savannah, Georgia; six grandchildren, Jordan, Jake who lived with and cared for him the last five years, Blake, McKenna, Connor and Zachary; his former wife of 47 years, Ruth B. Krauss of Savannah, Georgia; one sister, Katherine Coughlin of Savannah, Georgia, and her children. The funeral service will be held at 4:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend Patrick S. I knew Krauss well when I lived in Silk Hope Community in 1964. He had a sense of humor. One day I asked him for a shampoo that would cure dandruff and he said--"Go out and invent one and we'll go into business together and become millionaires"
