Lore Dias Obituary

Our dearest Lore Dias, 69, left us on Sept. 8, 2014, at 6 a.m., surrounded by family at her longtime home in Vallejo, Calif.
Born in Chicago, Ill. to Albert and Medi Koehler, Lore grew up on an Indiana farm. She graduated from Monticello High School in 1963, then Purdue University in 1967,
Lore worked in Special Education in California at Napa State Hospital, the California Youth Authority, Franklin Middle School, and Wardlaw Elementary retiring from Vallejo Unified School District in 2003.
Lore and her two daughters loved each other dearly. She married Michael Dias of San Jose, Calif. in 1994 and stood beside him until his passing in 2009. She was a member of the Vallejo Elks, Women of the Moose, and volunteered with the Napa-Solano Audubon Society. She was an astrologer, treasure hunter, loved horses and nature, and will be remembered for her selfless devotion to those in need.
Lore is survived by her loving family: daughters, Tasha Nesbitt with husband Sharif Nakhleh of Oakland, Calif., Atalanta Jackson and granddaughter Camille Owen of San Diego, Calif.; twin sister, Luise Phillips with husband Steve of Monticello; and elder sister, Medi Hoover of Sarasota, Fla.; as well as her devoted friend, Jerry Rothfeld.
Per Lore's wishes, a private gathering will be held to celebrate her life. Condolence letters may be sent to: Family of Lore Dias, c/o Struble Funeral Services, 515 Broadway Street, Vallejo, Calif., 94590.
Memorial contributions in Lore's honor can be made to Castleton Ranch Horse Rescue Inc., 28581 Old Ranch Drive, Valley Center, Calif., 92082.
Lore followed and spoke with the stars and now has joined them. She will remain forever in our hearts.

I was very saddened to learn of Lore's passing. She was the best stroke-oar rowing buddy I ever had. I have many fond memories of her/with her out on the water all those years. May peace be with her family she was always proud of.
