MEYERS, William William J. (Bill) Meyers age 83 of Sandy Springs GA died after a short illness on Sunday September 21, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Barbara, daughters Elisabeth and Ann-Marie Meyers of Philadelphia and son Thomas (Amy Pattison) and three grandchildren, Kyler, Kaitlin and Will of Charleston SC brothers Bob (Marlene) and Tony (Mary Lynn) of Chicago and sister Dorothy Hozie (Gene) of Streator IL Born and raised in Streator IL he enlisted in the US Air Force and served four years. He graduated from the University of Illinois in 1958 with a BS in management and marketing. His 37 year career was mainly in the food industry beginning with General Foods Post Division Battle Creek MI as a salesman. He was advertising manager MJB Coffee San Francisco, President Shasta Beverages (Consolidated Foods) Hayward CA and promoted to executive VP Consolidated Foods in Chicago. In 1983 he purchased 4U Beverages (Moxie Industries) Atlanta. Volunteering at the ATL airport customer service desk and working as a poll manager for Fulton County elections filled his retirement years. His interests included gardening, reading WWII history and travel. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, October 3 at All Saints Catholic Church, Dunwoody, at 10:30 a.m. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to The Society of St. Vincent de Paul or to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cancer Home Atlanta. Burial will be at the Georgia Nat'l Military Cemetery at a later date.
