1953 - 2014 William Bill Patrick Gordon, 61, of Bridge City, Texas passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Baptist Hospital of Southeast Texas-Orange. He was born on October 20, 1953 to Wanda Fletcher Gordon and Earl Daniel Gordon. He was born in Wichita Falls, TX, but was raised in Port Arthur where he attended and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1972. Bill was an All American football player, attended the University of Texas from 1972-1976, and became captain of the University of Texas Varsity Football Team in 1976. He played in several Bowl games, was a part of the Southeast Champion team, and continued to be an avid fan and supporter. Above all he was a beloved husband, father, brother, and Paw Paw, and cherished the time he had with his family. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him. Bill is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Jeanelle McGraw. He is survived by his wife, Shawn Gordon of Bridge City, TX; son, Brett Gordon of Lumberton, TX; daughters, Asenatha Dawn Gordon of Warren, TX, Heather Ripley of Nederland, TX, Micki Hernandez of Bridge City, TX; brothers, Durwin Gordon of Port Arthur, TX, Stewart Gordon of Nederland, TX; sister, Danna Lynn Gordon of Port Arthur, TX; eight grandchildren, Austin Gordon, Brynn Ripley, William James, Ian Ripley, Jayden Dunham, Danica Hernandez, Delani Hernandez and Dawson Gordon. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 21, 2014 from 11-1 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Arrangements for cremation are entrusted to Clayton Thompson Funeral Home.
