Dear Dorothy,
I'm saddened to hear of David's passing. Seeing his picture I'd know him anywhere even though its been many many years since we last saw each other.

I served with David Gymrek for a period two years (from 1959-to-1961) at the U.S. Naval Station, Port Lyauty, Morocco. He was a sailor and I was a Marine. David enjoyed coming over our barracks and listening to the insanity from the many characters living in our quarters. My sincere condolences to David's family and friends.

Alice, my prayers are with you and your family. I didn't know Dave very well, except for the joy he brought into my puppy's life by talking to her every day. I was always awed by the care he put into building a beautiful house for you...oh, the love in building those steps and vegetable boxes on the side of your house. When I questioned the amount of time and care taken, he told me he was doing them for his Alice, so the job had to be perfect.

You and your family are in my thoughts, Alice. I am so sorry. I met David only twice, I think, but he seemed a quiet and gentle man. And he gave a great boat ride! I hope you will find peace and comfort in your family in the coming days.
