Robert L. Warren
Candler/Baltimore - Robert L. Warren, of Candler and Baltimore, MD, passed away Saturday, December 27, 2014, at Mission Hospital.
A native of Buncombe County, he was a graduate of Candler High School and Northeastern University. He served as a torpedo tester with the Navy during WWII.
He began his career in scholarly publishing as Business Manager for MIT Press in Boston, with Psychological Corp. in New York, then with the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. For most of his career he was CFO of Johns Hopkins University Press, Baltimore, before retiring in 1993.
While CFO at Johns Hopkins Press, he remained an active member and Past Master of the Masonic Lodge in Philadelphia. He and Coralee returned to Candler in 2011.
Surviving are his wife, Coralee Morgan Warren; daughter, Kimberly Ellen Warren of Los Angeles; three children from a previous marriage, Robert Jr., Patricia and Susan; sister, Violet Ducker; brother, Levon Warren (Brenda); and special nephews, Dirk Sanders, Doug Ducker, Ed King, and Dan McCurry.
Graveside services will be at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday at Piney Mountain United Methodist Church Cemetery with Dr. Dan McCurry and Dr. Ian Walker officiating.

The family expresses their sincere appreciation to his medical staff, including Drs. McMillan and Rardin, the 4th floor staff of Mission Hospital, the Upper Hominy VFD/Rescue Squad, and neighbors in Candler and Baltimore.
