TOBY FANNING Obituary

FANNING, TOBY STEVEN - age 62, died January 27, 2015, at his home. Toby was born on December 6, 1952, to the late Toby and Dorothy "Dot" Fanning. He graduated from Tullahoma High School in 1970 and served as an air traffic controller in the United States Army from 1975 to 1978. Toby later graduated with a bachelor of arts from the University of Tennessee in 1976 and became a certified public accountant in 1983. He began his accounting career at the Clarksville Department of Electricity before joining the Tennessee Valley Authority in 1986. Toby worked in various positions at TVA, until his retirement in 2003 as senior manager, employee benefits. During his lifetime, he enjoyed traveling to warm beaches, spending time with his family, tennis, golf, and his pets. Toby is remembered with love by his wife, Leslie Ann Fanning; and step children, Monica Silvera (Lissa Goforth), and Doug Silvera and his wife Samantha. He is also survived by his sister, Ann Hindman; his children, Liberty Lander (Mike Perez), Toby and Kristen Fanning, Jr., and their mother, Connie; and three grandchildren, Aubrey, Koen, and Kya-Marie. Toby also leaves behind his faithful French bulldog companion, Dottie. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Saturday, January 31, at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel. Grew up with Toby in Tullahoma, although not a close friend,we were friends and I always knew him as a well liked and respected individual. A good human being. So sorry to hear of his passing.
