WEBER, Jane H.
of Seminole, 3-6-22 to 4-22-15. We celebrate the long and wonderful life of Jane Helen Shanks Weber. Born to James Shanks and Mildred Edwards Shanks in Glasgow, Montana. She grew up in Waterloo, Iowa graduating from West High School. She met Paul Weber at the University Of Iowa and they graduated together in December 1943. They were married June 12, 1944 before Paul accepted his commission in the Navy. They moved to St. Petersburg in 1950 and developed Crosswinds Mobile Home Court. They had four children, Paul Stanley, Janis, Bruce, and Lori who blessed them with eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Jane was a true "homemaker," a wonderful cook, gardener, and seamstress. She was a nurturing, loving mother. As the children grew up, she developed her talents and interests, teaching herself needlepoint and designing vestments and kneeling cushions for St. Luke's United Methodist Church. She volunteered at All Children's Hospital to sew blankets for preemie babies and later served on their Board Of Directors, was President of the Guild, was chairwoman of Charity Ball, and served on the Board of the Childrens Research Institute. She studied art and volunteered to polish silver at the Museum Of Fine Arts eventually becoming a docent. She had a multitude of interests and made life interesting for all who knew her and was kind to everyone she met. A funeral service will be 2 pm, Sunday, April 26, 2015, at Seminole United Methodist Church 5400 Seminole Blvd with Rev. David Carefoot officiating. Private interment will be Monday at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family requests memorials to All Children's Hospital. Online memorial and guest book at: www.gunterfuneralhome.com.

Our deepest sympathy to the children and grandchildren of Jane. What a wonderful friend and lady! Jane and I were Gamma Phi Bets from Rho Chapter at the U. of Iowa. We met here and were active for many years in our alumnae chapter,as well as being P.E.O. sisters. Jane always had a smile and was a friend to all. She was so very proud of her family. Wonderful memories!
