Irondequoit: Passed Thursday, April 23, 2015 at age 75. He was predeceased by his first wife, Gladys; second wife, Bethia; son, Mark and brother, Frank. He is survived by his children, James W. Monroe, Shannon L. Monroe, Scott D. Monroe, Matthew B. Monroe, Sarah (Eric) Kowalski, Allison (Christopher) Tuper, Justine (Frank) Farina, Nicholas K. Monroe, Jacob D. Monroe, Morgan B. Monroe; grandchildren, Noah, Ryan and Adam Williams, Matthew II and Isaiah Monroe, Benjamin, Emma and Lily Kowalski, Connor and Addison Farina and Cristian Tuper; 3 sisters; 6 brothers; and many nieces and nephews. James was a US Marine Corp. Veteran.
The family will receive friends Monday, April 27th from 4-8PM at the New Comer Funeral Home, 2636 Ridgeway Ave. Interment will be Private. Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of Rochester Lifetime Care, 3111 Winton Rd. S., Rochester, NY 14620. To share a special memory please visit:

My condolences to all the Monroe family;didn't know James personally but I did know Gladys,Shannon,Scotty,Matthew and some of their cousins. May he rest in peace.

Im so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. I work with Jim for many years and always enjoyed his stories, he was always up to talk. he will be missed. i'm sorry i missed the wake i thought it was this thursday. God Bless Jim and may God look over his children...

I did not know James personally, but he was my cashier at Wegmans many times. He was a quiet and kind soul. Prayers to his whole family . He will be missed.
