Anselmo Garza

Anselmo Garza, born on January 31, 1927 in San Benito, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. He was 88 years old.
Anselmo later moved to Lozano along with his parents and siblings Genoveva Moreno, Braulio Garza, Ismael Garza, Pedro Garza, and Guadalupe Garza. He was married to the love of his life, Hortencia, for over sixty years and were both avid farmers in the Lozano area. During World War II, Anselmo served honorably within the United States Army.
His loving wife, Hortencia Sosa Garza; sons, Israel Garza and Jose Anselmo (Velma) Garza; daughter, Leticia (Manuel) Castaneda; parents, Pedro and Severa Garza; and siblings, Braulio and Ismael Garza, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his children Eddie Garza (Emma) of San Benito, Reynaldo Garza (Maria) of Harlingen, Sylvia Cavazos (Ruben) of La Feria, Yolanda Campos (Jose Luis) of San Benito, Nelda Rendon (Fred) of Harlingen, Olga Garza (Frank) of Harlingen, and Enrique Garza (Nora) of Sebastian; brother, Pedro Garza of Lozano; sister, Genoveva Moreno of Idaho; as well as nineteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours are today, Friday, July 31, 2015, beginning at two o'clock in the afternoon and concluding at nine o'clock at night, with a prayer service to begin at seven o'clock Friday evening within the San Benito Funeral Home Chapel, 1400 West Highway 77, San Benito, Texas 78586.
A chapel service will commence tomorrow, Saturday, August 1, 2015 at ten o'clock in the morning, with Pastor Armando Escamilla officiating. Interment will then follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito.
Serving as pallbearers will be Israel Garza, Fred P. Rendon III, Jacob Rendon, Rey Garza, Jr., Rene Garza, Randolph Christian Kruse, and Edward Anthony Kruse. His sons, Eddie, Reynaldo, and Enrique Garza, will serve as honorary pallbearers.
