Alexander Frank Ix, Jr.
AGE: 85 • Spring Lake
It is with great sadness that the family of Alexander Frank Ix, Jr., 87 of Spring Lake, NJ announces his passing on September 28, 2015. A graduate of Englewood School for Boys and Princeton University Class of 1949, he served in the Navy during the Korean War. He spent his entire career at Frank Ix & Sons, becoming its President in 1970.
He married the love of his life, Annrose Collins, in 1952 and they had six children Alexander III, Constance, Melissa, Sarah (predeceased), Charles, and Mark. He was the cherished Pop-Pop to 10 grandchildren. He was an avid sportsman playing tennis, skiing and croquet. He was President of the Green Gables Croquet Club and was inducted into the Croquet Hall of Fame in 2010. He will be lovingly remembered for his boundless generosity, sharp wit, and matinee idol good looks. Alex was man of infinite class and a true gentleman.
Visitation will be at O'Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35, Wall, on Sunday from 4-8pm. Funeral Mass will be at St. Catharine's Church, 215 Essex Ave, Spring Lake, on Monday at 10:30am. Burial with Military Honors will take place Mt. Carmel Cemetery, 10 Serpentine Road, Tenafly, NJ, on Tuesday at 11am.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Spring Lake Community House Theater, 300 Madison Ave, Spring Lake, NJ 07762.
