Raven, Gerald (Jerry) L.
Gerald L. (Jerry) Raven, age 90, of Mesa, AZ, formerly of Manitowoc, died Monday, September 21, 2015 in Arizona.
Jerry was born in Cameron, WI on May 6, 1925, son of the late Walter and Marie (Yeoman) Raven. He was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School with the class of 1943. Jerry served in the U.S. Navy from August 3, 1943 to January 27, 1946. On July 30, 1955 he married Maysel L. Rosik at Saint Boniface Catholic Church in Manitowoc. The couple lived in Cherokee, IA for over 20 years. Jerry was an H & R Block franchise owner as well as owning and operating the Credit Bureau of Cherokee, retiring to Mesa, AZ in 1988. His favorite pastime was fishing.
He is survived by his wife: Maysel, AZ; a daughter: Leila (Douglas) Parrish of Houston, TX; a son: John T. Raven of Marina del Rey, CA; a granddaughter: Alexandra Parrish of Dallas, TX; and sister: Jeanne (Gerald) Rank. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother: Thomas (Alice) Raven; and sister: Marguerite (James) O'Hearn.
Cremation has occurred and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM at Calvary Chapel Mausoleum, 2601 South 14th Street, Manitowoc, WI on Friday, October 16, 2015. Officiating at the service will be Deacon Alan Boeldt. Military rites will be accorded by the VFW Otto Oas Post #659.
