Stephen Joseph Cash, 81, a lifelong resident of Erie, passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2016, at his residence. He was born in Erie on July 22, 1935, a son of the late Frank and Josephine Taccone Cash.
Stephen was a graduate of Harborcreek High School and went on to serve in the United States Army as an artillery surveyor stationed in Japan. He worked at General Electric for approximately 22 years as a maintenance supervisor. He was an avid photographer, especially enjoying wedding photography.

His second love was for the Catholic Church, helping in every aspect, joining the Jesus, Mary, and Joseph Council 4071 of the Knights of Columbus. He served for over 60 years with the Knights as part of the color corps and as Master of Pennsylvania West and holding several positions including the State Council. He was awarded the Knight of St. Patrick and the Knight of St. Gregory, the Papal Award. He was a member of the Erie Diocesan Cursillo Movement, Erie County State Police Auxiliary, and was one of the founding members of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, where he served on parish council, the finance board, men's council, and was a Eucharistic Minister.
He married the love of his life, Helen Twaroski Cash, and they were together for 59 years, raising five daughters, Deborah Schwab and her husband, Calvin, Theresa Swanson and her husband, Russell, Darlene Goodemote and her husband, Michael, Stephanie Chessario and her husband, Chris, and Angela Cash and her fiancé, Gerry, all of Erie; six grandchildren, April Ramey, Alicia Ramey, Stephen Schwab, Amanda Goodemote, Michael Goodemote II, and Nicole Glaz; one great-granddaughter, Erica; his brother, Daniel J. Cash, Sr.; and his lovable dog, Holly.
