Doug earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern Mississippi. It was there, in USM's first co-ed PE class, that he met Janice Lonnborg. He continued to participate in the choral arts, serving as the entire choir of St. Steven's Episcopal Church in Columbia, MS from '79-'88. Then, Doug and Jan joined Saint Andrew's Episcopal Cathedral in Jackson, MS, where Doug sang in the choir for several years. He passed on this love of music to his daughter, who sang in the St. Andrew's Children's Choir, the Mississippi Girl Choir, and the Columbus Girl Choir.

Sorry to hear about Doug's passing. I'll never forget all those good times we had playing in our neighborhood in Ridgewood, NJ (Fairmont Road) along with your little brother Donnie back in the 1950s. I'll never forget seeing you actually performing at Radio City that one Christmas. Rest in Peace to my ol' pal. - Dick Figlar, [email protected]

Jan and Rachel - we were so saddened to hear of the passing of Doug. He was a prince of a guy and such a good friend. I will always remember that he was one of the very first people I met when I first went to Marion General Hospital those many years ago. He was always the first to help and assist in any way that he could. Doug was a wonderful friend and colleague and I shall miss him very much. You are in our thoughts and prayers during this time of loss.
