Ronald Hixson Obituary

Ronald V. Hixson, 71 of Crawford Road, Everett went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 13, 2017 after a courageous battle with multiple illnesses that weakened his body, but not his eternal soul.
He was born September 17, 1945 in Everett, Pennsylvania, the son of the late W. Veryl and Mary Blanche (Walters) Hixson. The brother of the late Nathan B. Hixson and the late Edna J. "Jeannie" Hixson.
Ron attended Akersville Methodist Church and Mountain Chapel Church. He was a graduate of Southern Fulton H.S. and Penn State University, Class of 1967. After graduation he worked for several years as a comptroller for the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections before pursuing other interests, that included building log cabins and managing several local businesses throughout Bedford and Fulton Counties. He eventually established his own tax preparation business that served many businesses and families for over 45 years.
Of his interests, Ron enjoyed going for rides in the country. He also loved to take trips to visit his Alma Mater, to support his Lions at football games or to make a special stop at The Creamery. He loved everything PSU and collected Blue and White memorabilia. He enjoyed eating out with friends and family and loved to explore various restaurants throughout the area. He had a well developed sweet tooth and insisted that no meal was complete without dessert. Ultimately, his biggest passion was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
