FRANKS
Robert Woodruff Franks, born August 23, 1919, beloved husband and father, passed away peacefully in the presence of his family February 17. Bob was preceded in death by Vera his beloved wife of 74 years, and will be dearly missed by his children, Patty Harris (David) of Colorado, Nan Franks, Jane Titus (Rick) and Gus Poneris (Tara) of the Cincinnati area. He was the dear grandfather of Hayley Picchini (Ryan), Beau Harris, Matt Titus, Jaime Richardson, Jacob Richardson (Madison) Kacy Titus, Colin and Kristos Poneris. He was blessed also to have 1 great-grandchild, Kendall Picchini. Bob served in both World War ll and the Korean War. He was an Industrial Engineer for the Procter and Gamble Company, his career lasting 35 years. Upon his retirement he served many in the community with Tax and Estate Planning. Bob had a deep love and compassion for those with disabilities and in 1967 he was appointed the first Chairman of the Hamilton County Board of Mental Retardation, now called the Hamilton County Board of Developmental Disability Services. In 1981 he was honored for his years of service when the Robert W. Franks Adult Center was named for him. A Memorial Service will be held, Thursday, February 23, 4:00PM at Northminster Presbyterian Church, 703 Compton Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45231. A Reception at the church will follow. His wish is that in his memory donations be made to the Robert W. Franks Center Parents Association which supports the Robert W. Franks Adult Center, 5884 Bridgetown Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45248. www.vittstermeranderson.com
