NELSON
Bronwyn Nelson (nee Jones), 69, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2017. She was born to the late Thomas D. and Marguerite Jones (nee Wurster) in Cincinnati, Ohio on May 29, 1947. She attended Finneytown High School and the University of Michigan. She taught chemistry at Fairfield Senior High School, having received numerous awards for excellence in teaching, until her retirement in 2005. She was a heavily involved and dedicated member of her church, Trinity Presbyterian and proudly celebrated her Welsh heritage. She is survived by her husband, David W. Nelson III, brother Phil Jones, children Sallie (John) Conyers, Jill (Scott) Aston, and David W. (Jenny) Nelson IV, and grandchildren, Emma, Ethan, Abby, and Alexa Conyers, and Bennett, Grant, and Claire Aston, and Nora and Avery Nelson, sister-in-law Nadine Jones, and nieces Deborah Young and Elisabeth Jones and their families. She also leaves behind many other dear family members, cherished friends, and countless students whose lives she impacted greatly. Bronwyn treasured her time with family and friends and loved a healthy political debate. Her spunk and optimism will be missed by everyone who knew her. Services will be held at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 6081 Ross Road, Fairfield, Ohio, on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 with visitation from 5:30-7pm and service at 7pm. Flowers may be sent to Trinity Presbyterian for the service. In lieu of flowers, as Bronwyn was extremely charitable, a donation may be made to a charity or cause of your choosing. THE WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME 3080 Homeward Way at Rt. 4, Fairfield is serving the family.

So sad when I saw this on Facebook. I would not have gotten through chemistry without her support and encouragement. I still remember going down each row asking juice, milk, or coffee to get us going at 7:30 in the morning. Great teacher who will be missed. Quinn Smith class of 1983.

David, so sorry to hear of your loss. My daughter had Bronwyn as a chemistry teacher and absolutely loved the class. I also remember seeing Bronwyn in the hallways at FHS with a smile on her face and always a kind word. Prayers for you and your family.

Bronwyn was a church friend who I was just beginning to know. She made certain that I remembered her name and more importantly, pronounced it correctly. She made me feel so welcome at Trinity! I will truly miss her...

They say all a person really wants in life is for someone's eyes to light up when you walk in the room. Bronwyn's eyes always lit up when I walked in the room. I always felt she was happy to see me and that was a good feeling!
Advice I learned from Bronwyn Nelson in our FHS Teachers workroom back in the 80's and never forgot.
She told me tomorrow was going to be her Birthday! She told me she tells everyone a head of time, especially her husband Dave. (laughing).
She said. "No sense in setting yourself up for disappointment".
I have never forgotten that advice and use it with other situations in life! If you knew her, you know she was one of a kind. The world will miss her. She was smart and definitely went after what life had to offer. Made the best of every situation. feeling sad.
