RACINE - James (Jim) Kenneth Wolter Sr., age 69 passed away Monday, July 17th in his home with his sons Jim Jr. and Joe by his side. Jim was born April 12th 1948 in Racine, WI to Edgar and Alice (nee: Freudenthal) Wolter. He was united in marriage to the former Karen Ritt in 1980. Jim proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of VFW post 1391. Jim always made it a point to attend Veterans Day ceremonies bringing with him the special kids in his life. He wanted to instill in them the importance of remembering our veterans and their sacrifices. Along with being a proud American Jim was a serious Packer fan. “Don’t call when the game is on!” He loved football and kids. He spent many years coaching RYS football and also coached the Racine Threat. Somehow, he found time to raise his family and coach football while working third shift. He spent many days breaking up his sleep to get it all done. Jim enjoyed listening to local bands and could be seen at many performances around Racine. Jim will be remembered with love by the many people he came in contact with. He will be missed. Jim is survived by his sons; Gary, his wife Kyong, their daughter Kimberly and their granddaughters Yaelynn and Naiyung all of California, Jim Jr., his daughter Key'Anna and Joe all of Racine. Jim is also survived by his very special niece Jillian, her husband Joaquin and children, Julianna, Steven and Joaquin Jr. also of Racine. He is further survived by many relatives and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his wife Karen (nee: Ritt) in 2012, his parents, sister and brother-in-law. Relatives and friends may meet with the family for a time of remembering on Monday, July 24, 2017 from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Private interment with Full Military Honors will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park. Memorials to the V.F.W. Post 1391 have been suggested. His sons would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to their Uncles Bruce Ziegenhagen and Clair Breckenridge and to the amazing team from Grace Hospice for the support and care they provided for Jim.
