ALLEGANY - Marjorie J. Langs, formerly of 3974 Route 417, Lot 144, passed away Wednesday (Oct. 18, 2017), at Absolut Care of Salamanca, where she had been residing.
Born Feb. 8, 1934, in Franklinville, she was the daughter of Glen Raymond and Helen Aresta Clark Cook.
She married John "Jan" P. Langs, who predeceased her on Nov. 20, 2016.
Mrs. Langs was the school crossing guard for Olean City Schools for many years. She was a member of the Olean Elks Lodge 491, Loyal Order of Moose Lodges and the St. Stephen's Club. She enjoyed reading and loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Surviving are four children, Donald Hanson of Louisiana, Timothy (Korene) Hanson of North East, Pa., Gary B. Hanson and Patty Buchanan, both of Olean; one sister, Betty Benjamin; one brother, James Clark; nine grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; her longtime friend Harold Weatherbee; and several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Susan Mainus.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by one sister, Judy Ambroselli, and one brother, Bill Ambroselli.
A celebration of Marjorie's life will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017, at the Olean American Legion, 307 E. State St. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family at Mount Prospect Cemetery, Franklinville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, Okla., 73123.
