Though Carl had recently joined the Renton Sailing Center, he already made quite an impression on the members that he spoke and sailed with. His enthusiasm was contagious. He will be missed..

I met Carl after the family moved to Holland , Michigan, where they were members of our church and Annelies was a student in my seventh grade class at Harbor Lights School. We soon found common ground with backgrounds in Bridgeport and Saginaw County. I last saw the family at Annelies's graduation party. I will remember Carl as a man with a warm smile, kind heart and love for his wife and daughters. Please accept my sincere condolences.
