PHARISS, Lloyd Murray, 94, of Golden, Colorado passed away at home on November 15, 2018. He was born to the late Sherman and Alberta Phariss, April 5, 1924 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Lloyd graduated from Classen High School in Oklahoma City in May, 1943. Lloyd joined the U.S. Merchant Marines before serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Lloyd graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1949 with a B.S. in Business/Finance. He married Nellie Mildred Drye in 1949. Lloyd then graduated from Oklahoma City University in 1960 with a B.S. in Business/Accounting. He was a "landman" for Amoco Production Company for 33 years. He was a resident of Golden, CO for 47 years. He coached his five children's athletic teams, served as Boy Scout Leader, volunteered for Junior Achievement, and was an active member at Mountair Christian Church. Lloyd was a lifelong member of The Grand Lodge of Texas A.F. & A.M. and received his 70-year pin. Lloyd always showed tolerance and respect for the opinions of others, behaved with kindness and understanding, practiced charity and cared, not only for his own, but also for the community as a whole. Lloyd is survived by his wife of sixty-nine years, Nellie Mildred Drye (92); his twin sons, Tracy (Howard) of Lakewood, Colorado and Bruce (Sheila) of Montclair, New Jersey; his grandchildren Jennifer Lanoff (Keith/Donna}, Francesca Pelia-Phariss (Keith/Kahila), and Ryan, Colin, and Bridget (Bruce/Sheila); and great-grandchildren Brenda and Johnny (Francesca). He also had nieces and nephews, along with other relatives in Oklahoma. Lloyd was preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa, in 1998 and by his sons Murray, in 2009 (Jackie Phariss, Laurie Larson) and Keith, in 2015 (Donna Lanoff, Khaila Peila, Donita Buck-Benson). He will be greatly missed by family and friends who loved him, whom he loved in return. A memorial will be held at Mountair Christian Church, 1390 Benton St., Lakewood, CO 80214 on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Oakland-Knowles Cemetery in Crescent, Oklahoma with Abernathy-Aaron Funeral Home. The family requests flowers or donations be made to the Mountair Christian Church.

God bless you Lloyd and your family as they go thru these dark days. I've known Lloyd for over 20 years & enjoyed our talks. He ALWAYS came in with a smile on his face & warm handshake. He is one of the dearest people I have ever had the honor of meeting. Rest in Peace Lloyd, you will be missed by many.
