Joseph P. Schedler
PALMER TOWNSHIP
Joseph P. Schedler, 93, of Palmer Twp., PA, passed away at Easton Hospital on Dec. 12, 2018, surrounded by his family and friends.
Born in Easton, PA, on May 3, 1925, he was the son of the late Frederick and Louise Volkert Schedler.
He graduated from Easton Catholic High School in 1943, and then served in the US Navy during World War II, serving in both the European and Pacific Theaters.
In 1987, Joe retired from Mack Printing, formerly in Easton, PA, after 41 years. He was a member of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, Palmer Twp., Brown & Lynch American Legion Post 9, and The Senior Circle at Easton Hospital. Joe coached Little League and Teener baseball in Wilson Borough, PA, in the 1950's and 1960's; he volunteered at the Crayola Experience for many years and was a trainer and referee for high school athletics. In 1993, Joe was inducted into the Notre Dame High School Hall of Fame.
He was an avid sports fan, enjoyed working outside mowing his lawn and working in his garden, and spending time with family and friends.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Hilda T. Bender Schedler, with whom he celebrated 71 years of marriage on May 17; daughter Joan L. Brodt of Palmer Twp., PA. Joe was predeceased by his son, Edward J. Schedler, in 1971, and his son-in-law, Barry W. Brodt, in 2017.
In addition, he is survived by his brother, John Schedler of Bath, PA; his grandsons are Barry E. Brodt and his wife, Nicole, of Nazareth, PA, and Ryan J. Brodt and his wife, Gina, of Springfield, PA. Great-grandchildren are Madison, Cameron and Mia. Joe's nephew is Gregory Schedler of Palmer Twp., PA, and also Joe's sister-in-law, Shirley Schedler of Fall River, MA Other deceased family members are his brothers, Frederick and James Schedler.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, Dec. 17, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, 4049 Hartley Ave., Palmer Twp., PA. A viewing will be held prior to the Mass from 9 a.m. 'til 10:15 a.m., in the church. Interment will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem, PA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church, 18045. The Finegan Funeral Home, Palmer Twp., has been entrusted with arrangements. fineganfh.com.

Thoughts and prayers go out to Joe's family and friends. Foe was one of my Little League coaches and also had the privilege of working with him at Mack Printing for many year. Joe leaves us with many great memories, rest in piece my friend.
