Alexandra E. BurkeAug. 09, 1959 - Jan. 11, 2010 Alexandra “Sandy” Burke (Sandra Lowman)Sandra was born on August 9, 1959. She lived mostly in San Marino, CA, until she married in 1994. Soon after she and Paul moved to the Lazy B Ranch, ten acres in the hills beyond Sacramento. There they kept many animals, ranging from pigs to dogs and cats to ferrets, horses, a goat, donkey, rooster, geese… Sandra was trained as a medical assistant, but made a lifelong career as a veterinary technician. She worked for many years at Foothill Vet Clinic in Pasadena and Greenback Vet in Folsom. Her favorite was to work during the Emergency Clinic hours at night. All of her life Sandra had a special relationship with animals. Lovingly she took in and cared for the likes of the one-legged duck, the motherless kittens, the pig who needed a 52 pound tumor removed… Yet always she held a special dog closest to her heart. These were Clancy, Morgan, Roz and Anka. She is survived by many pets who are now being fondly cared for in her memory by friends and family. Surviving humans include many animal loving friends and family, including her husband Paul Burke, sister Christina Lowman, brother Mike Lowman, father and step-mother Frank and Audrey Lowman, nieces Grace and Katie Lowman, nephews Adrian and Slater Lowman and aunt and namesake Alexandra Grady. She was predeceased by her mother Carolyn Lowman.Gifts in her memory to the Humane Society would be a great honor to her life.
