AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Johnnie Mae McTier Brooks, wife of the late Mr. Shannon Brooks entered into rest May 19, 2011 at Trinity Hospital. Funeral services will be held 3PM Sunday May 22, 2011 at Lumpkin Road Baptist Church with Pastor Don Stone and Pastor Brad Newsome officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Ambassador Sunday School class of Lumpkin Road Baptist Church. Mrs. Brooks was born in Jefferson County, GA; she was a retired Kindergarten teacher. A member of Lumpkin Road Baptist Church, teaching Sunday school for many years, member of the homemakers club and was in the Ambassador Sunday School class. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law Cathie (Joe) Newsome, Evans , GA ; son and daughter-in-law Dennis (Karen) Brooks , Grovetown, GA ; sisters Evie (Cecil) Brooks and Opal (Jim) Smith; grandchildren Shannon (Shannon) Rubun, Brad (Stephanie) Newsome, and Ashley Brooks ; great-grandchildren Justin, Lauren and Aaron Rabun , Emily ,Erica, Ethan, Ella and Eli Newsome.
