Carolyn June Marie was born August 4, 1929 in Sidney, MT, the second of three daughters born to Agnes and Fred Christensen. When she was in the 7th grade, Carolyn’s family moved to Portland, OR where her father and mother worked in the shipyards in support of the war effort. After graduating in 1947 from Jefferson High School, Carolyn enrolled at Vanport College (now Portland State University) and worked at the phone company. In 1954 she married Robert L. Warner of Marysville, KS. Together they raised four children while following Bob’s career along the Union Pacific rail line to Nebraska and back to Oregon. After her husband passed away in 1990, Carolyn volunteered at Albertina Kerr where she made many new friends. She traveled with her younger sister to the south pacific and northern Europe, visiting the land of their ancestors—Denmark. Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband (Bob), and sister (Harriet). She is survived by her sister Sylvia Shermer; children Steve (Rosalie) Warner, Pam (Ed) Laramore, Patti (Jeff Chase) Warner, and Becky (Brent Steel) Warner; five grandchildren; and one beautiful great grandson. For the past several years Carolyn lived at Creekside Village in Beaverton. Her friends frequently commented about her constant visits by her children and family. “You must be an amazing mother,” they said. She was.
