Brandy Chantale Thomas Childs was born to Charles A. Thomas and Linda Brodnax Turner on
July 16, 1980, in Fort Campbell, Ky. God called her home on April 18, 2012, at the age of 31 at Chippenham Hospital in Richmond, Va.
She attended grade schools throughout the U.S. and Europe traveling with her father in the military. She graduated from Brunswick Sr. High.
She worked as a dedicated correctional officer at the Greensville Correctional Center.
Brandy was preceded in death by her loving brother, Charles A. Thomas Jr.
She leaves to mourn her memories: her husband; James Childs III; stepson, Jamaal Childs
Sr.; grandson, Jamaal Childs Jr.; mother, Linda Brodnax Turner; father, Charles Thomas Sr. (Lorraine); in-laws, James and Anne Childs; two sisters, Katrinka A. Phillips (Chris), Sherron D. King (Kenneth); one brother, Durrell M. Thomas (Christine); and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a multitude of friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 22, 2012, at Brown's Funeral Service, with interment in the Westview Cemetery in South Hill, Va. The Rev. Ralph Friend will officiate.
Brown's Funeral Service in Lawrenceville, Va., is in charge of the arrangements.
