CRICK, WILLIAM “BILL” CHARLES age 87 died Saturday, May 5, 2012 at his home. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 12, 2012 at the First Presbyterian Church, 746 S. Saginaw St., Flint, MI. Interment at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc, MI. Bill was born May 6, 1924, in Kokomo IN to parents Charles and Helen (Beebe) Crick. Bill was a retired Director of Citizens Commercial & Savings Bank, retired Director of Citizens Banking Corporation, member of Community Foundation of Greater Flint, retired Chairman Sloan Museum Advisory Committee, charter member of Grand Blanc “20_20”, Treasurer of the Cedar Street Children’s Center, and volunteer at Genesys Hospital. Bill worked 1958 -1983 as Managing Director, Industrial Mutual Assoc. of Flint, 1954 -1958 as a buyer for Smith Bridgeman & Co, 1947 -1954 as a buyer for J. L. Hudson Co. He attended the Flint Public Schools, graduated from Culver Military Academy in 1943 and graduated from the University of Michigan in 1947. Bill was past President of the American Cancer Society Genesee County Unit, past President of the Kiwanis Club of Flint, past President of Flint Area Chamber of Commerce, past President of College & Cultural Development, former board member Flint YMCA, former board member For-Mar Manor, member First Presbyterian Church, past Chairman & President of the board of United Way of Genesee & Lapeer Counties, past board member Flint Institute of Arts, past board member National Red Cross Genesee County Chapter, past President Pierce School PTA and member and former Director of the Flint Golf Club. Surviving are his children Elizabeth Ellen Duke of GA, Catherine B. (Roger) Smith of Grand Blanc, Sara Ann (Steven) Dankle of WI; grandchildren Sarah Winter, Laura Robinson, Courtney Seeber, Andrew Smith, Joanna Dankle, Elizabeth Dankle; 3 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by wife Joan Crick; parents and sister Rachel Blue. The family wishes to thank the staff at Abbey Park for the special care.
