He was the deputy sheriff for our auctions, and always did a super job. I am so glad he worked the auctions. He was dedicated and always kept everything well under control. Everyone at the Commissioner's Office will greatly miss him.

David and I were friends at Butler High School together. Whenever I ran into him socially, we always chatted about people we knew in common. In later years, I would see him at O. D. White's when I would attend a viewing of someone who had passed. And when I saw him, each time, he had that big smile and big friend hug to offer. He is now smiling down on his family from heaven and my thoughts are for God's grace to shine a peaceful calm upon those left behind. David was truly a shining light.

R.I.P. Dave! When my wife and I married 20 years ago this coming October I asked a friend if he knew anyone that could get a limo for our wedding, he said he knew someone who worked at a funeral home who could get limos. Never forget the day we got married and the limo pulled up it was Dave Brown driving it. We had never met before then and would have never thought that many years later we would become co-workers at JCSO. Dave worked all the time, but now its his time to take a rest. Look forward to seeing you again someday, but until then God Speed my friend!

July 15, 2012

I had known Dave since November 1994, worked a lot of hours with him in the courts.Like the news paper said.....Dave ALWAYS had a smile on his face and never met a stranger. He was a good hearted and a VERY fair person. Rest in peace

My sincere & deepist sympathy to the family of Dave Brown. Dave was a co-worker & friend at JCSO in the HOJ. Dave was always kind & professional even when he was enforcing the law. One evening after our shift several deputies, two of which were female,
were walking to their cars, Dave said,
"I feel like a thorn between 2 roses."

I have been David's friend for several years. We worked together in the funeral industry and often talked about law enforcement. I saw David about two weeks ago at the Thornton's at Floyd and Broadway where he was working. I had been working at the Kentucky Speedway and had just got off. We bumped into each other and talked about the many benefits of working law enforcement. He seemed very happy and I will always remember that last conversation with him. He was a good friend to me and I will miss him. Rest in Peace my friend. James Southern

There was no stranger that downtown Dave Brown met. He treatedly everyone fairly and always have a person their chance to talk. The excitement when he saw me ., as well as others always made me smile. But that was his thing to always bring a "smile" to everyone! He never judged anyone. And was always there to talk. What a great man/ friend /confident God has brought to be a angel! And all of us that know him, we always need a angel ESP. Him. Lots of love. Xoxo.

Newton, Cross and Hendrick's and Holtzclaw Families

Nicole, Ryan, Laura and Family,
My family is at loss for words, for the loss of your father. David always took care of our loved ones who pass away when he was working at O.D.White's. David loved his two children more then life, Nicole & Ryan. He would tell us stories, especially the day when Nicole would get married, and Ryan would leave for college. he wanted nothing but the best for his children, all grown now. David always made time for families, and always a smile on his face. May GOD be with you during this time. Our thought's and prayer's are with your family. David was the best at what he did, love his children, Funeral Director of O.D.White's and took care of his Families. O.D.Whites has taken care of our family since 1963,and they were the best. David we thank you for being their all those years for our family. May GOD BLESS your family. Nicole & Ryan, your Dad loved you so much and so proud of both of you, he'd always had pictures to show us. He's now Your Guardian Angel!
