Roy W. Carlsen, 71, passed away August 7, 2012 at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he lived in Kendall Park, NJ, moving back to Brooklyn, and then to Sayreville 6 years ago. He was a printer for Pilgrim Press in Queens, NY. He was a member of the VFW in Spotswood, NJ and a member of the American Legion in Brooklyn. Roy loved all sports, baseball, hockey (NY Rangers), football (NY Giants), golf, and even playing softball. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Carlsen, his daughter and son in law, Cheryl & Joe Pupo; his daughter, Karla Carlsen; his son, Roy W. Carlsen Jr.; his grandsons, Joseph Pupo III & Vincent Pupo; his brothers, Kenneth & Lester Carlsen; and his sister, Carol Crawford. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 from 9-11am at the Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, 3377 Rt. 9, Old Bridge, NJ. A prayer service will be at 11am at the funeral home. Interment will follow to the NJ Veterans Cemetery, Provinceline Road, Wrightstown, NJ.

i will never forget all the summer mets games all the days at six flags growing up evem if we did not have alot of money you did what you could to have fun and give us what you could from the summer days of brooklyn to the winters of nj we as a family will NEVER forget you and we will meet again till that day i will miss you everyday i love you always your son roy jr R.I.P. To a man I knew over 15yrs I have good memories Roy.. The special moment I have was at Cheryl and Joey's wedding dancing,singing,drinking and just having a great time (except for the split) I know you are laughing at that... you were a good guy. Marge,Cheryl Joey,Karla,Roy jr and Joe Joe and Vincent will miss you greatly. I love watching and listening to you and Cheryl talking and seeing who got louder..but most of all I know how much you loved your family and they loved you..
