Evans, Lewis Andrew Evans IV

He was one of the original members of the Shepard's Ministry appointed by Bishop Alexis Thomas to be an extension of the Bishop to the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church congregation. Lewis will be missed forever by his wife of 34 years, Velveia B. Evans; two sons, Lewis A Evans V and Kristopher P. Evans; two brothers, Lyle Elton Evans (Tracie) and Mark Milner Evans. To the Evans Family:
Lewis was a scholarly classmate who shared our elementary school years throughout our high school experiences. As his clasmates and friends, we remember his calm demeanor and warm smile that gave a profound sense of love & respect. We realize his personal and professional accomplishments exemplify the foundations our teachers impressed upon us.
We extend our condolences and pray that the memories of Lewis sustain you during this time of sorrow.

My deepest condolences and prayers are with the Evans Family. I remember Lewis for one of the good times. Lewis and I shared a love for boating and fishing. One of his visits back to Virginia we met at the Chesapeake Bay, we had a great day on the Bay fishing and camaraderie. You maybe gone but you will never be forgotten. R.I.P

My heart is sadden by the passing of Lewis. We were neighbors when he was young. I admired him as a young man and followed his career as an adult. May God grant the family peace and know that the love of many will sustain them during this difficult time. God will provide.

He was a great man to work for. He had a great sense of humor. I'll always remember the year we celebrated his 50th birthday knowing it was really the 40th. He played along and wore his cardboard 50th tie the entire day.
He's in the arms of God now, I hope that brings solace to his family.
God Bless

To the Evans Family - I have many fond memories of working with Lewis at Sperry Flight Systems/Honeywell Aerospace on the autopilots and other systems for the Boeing 7_7 airplanes. He was such a gentleman and gemtle man, always working diligently to solve problems and make the system, software and hardware work correctly with the airplane. A real pleasure to know Lewis.
Rest in Peace

I am very sad to see Mr. Evans pass. He was a great man and a father figure to me. When u go through life u hope to have one father there to teach u from right and wrong. I have been lucky enough to have 3. My real father, my step dad (Gerald Ervin) and Mr. Evans. The last time I saw Mr. Evans was at my step dads funeral in December. He came up to me as he always did....he shook my hand and gave me a hug. He always treated me the same way he treated his two sons. I will miss him, but he will always have a place in my heart. Love u Mr. Evans
