Martha was a pioneer in so many ways but she would never take credit for all the many important things she brought to the paralegal profession. The admiration I have for her and the devotion she gave to everything she undertook is parallel to none. The year she held the office of President of DALA (Dallas Association of Legal Assistants now DAPA), she spearheaded the complete rewrite of the Association's Bylaws taking it into the realm of a bona fide professional association. She made me proud to be a paralegal and even prouder to be a woman. Rest in Peace, dear friend.

Martha was a lady, lovely in every way. I worked with her at Jenkens & Gilchrist beginning in 1981. She and I shared an office in the library and became friends. At that time she was taking care of her elderly mother. Martha had great stories, funny stories. I remember that she had a dog with a particularly unpleasant personality, and each time she would take the dog to the veterinarian, he would suggest that, as the dog would never improve, she put the dog down for the good of everyone. She just laughed. I am honored to have known her. (Martha Allen)

I worked with Mr. Hoffman and Martha at Strasburger & Price and with Martha at Jenkens & Gilchrist. I always had such respect for Martha and loved her adorable sense of humor! She was a lovely lady. She was so happy when she married Mr. Hoffman - he was the love of her life. Sympathies to the family, Janie Smith

Martha was a dear friend. I worked with her at Strasburger & Price. Even ;though I didn't get to see her much after she moved to Austin, I thought of her often. We were also members of the same church. My condolences to the family.
