I had the privilege to work with John Toland for two years while working for Intel in Hudson Mass. The first thing you observed with John was that he could never get to his desk without someone stopping and asking him a question about the system they owned and how he could help solve "their" problem/s. John was a team player with a wonderful sense of humor that was evident in all he did. He was a gifted engineer whose skills far exceeded his job description. People loved working with him because they knew the job at hand would prove to be fun, and all would benefit from him sharing his knowledge. His attitude was always positive and I NEVER heard him use the words failure and can't. He was a role model for all to emulate. Rest in Peace John Toland. You were what most people can only hope to be!

To the Toland Family. I have worked with John since he came to Intel, and have worked for him for the past 2 years. I considered him a friend and someone to look up to in the way he lived his life and loved his family. Sitting right beside him, I enjoyed hearing him tease the kids when he would call home about something and knew that his family just gave him so much joy. My thoughts are with you in this difficult time.

Dear Toland family,
As professionals and co-workers, we remember John for his incredible knowledge, skill, and ability to quickly adapt to changing situations. He was able to recall the exact details of any given system/situation and made it seem effortless. He was adept at handling stressful situations and making very difficult decisions. As friends and personal acquaintances, John will always be remembered as the friendly and helpful face in the hallways, in our meetings, and in the details of our daily work. He was always ready with a smile and a word of encouragement, no matter who you were, what part of the facility you worked in, or what your role happened to be. John role-modeled so many positive qualities - it is so rare to find so many of these qualities in a single person. John will be sincerely missed by so many people at this facility where he has spent the last several years. Our hearts are breaking for your family, and we have sent many thoughts and prayers up in hopes that your family will find strength together. - Our deepest sympathies from the entire Air Products Team in Hudson, MA
