Ross D. Aldrich

Ross D. Aldrich, age 99, a resident of Windsor Park Manor in Carol Stream, IL, and formerly of Elmhurst, IL, died Wednesday, February 13, at Windsor's Johnson Healthcare Center. He was born on December 16, 1913 in Chicago to Harry and Julia Aldrich.
  In the 1930's Ross worked as an apprentice machinist and also served in the Illinois National Guard in the horse drawn field artillery.  He later attended Chicago Technical College at night and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1942.  He worked for Continental Can Company as an engineer for over 30 years, where he met Amelia Malichek, who became his wife of 53 years. In retirement he worked at White Pines Golf Course as a starter and a ranger for over 20 years.  
  He became a Mason in 1950 and served as Master of the Cottage Hill Lodge in Elmhurst in 1977.  He was also a member of the Shrine.
  He is survived by three sons,  David (Renee) Macarus of Elgin, IL,  David Aldrich of Miami Beach, FL and Michael (Margaret) of Elmhurst, IL; ten grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife Amelia, his parents and his brother and sister.
  A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 16 at 10 AM in the chapel at Windsor Park Manor, 120 Windsor Park Dr., in Carol Stream, IL. Interment will be private at Chapel Hill Gardens West in Oakbrook Terrace, IL.
