Robert Carson Billings Sr. REIDSVILLE, N.C. - Robert Carson Billings Sr., 87, of 1743 S. Scales St. Apt. D, Reidsville, N.C., died on Friday, June 28, 2013, at his home. A memorial service will be held at a later date. A native of Mount Valley, VA, he was a son of the late Thomas and Lillie Russ Billings and had lived in Rockingham County for most of his life. He was a retired sawmill worker and was a US Army Veteran of WWII. Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Sara Lawson Billings; two brothers, Thomas Edward Billings, Willard Billings; and sisters, Viola Taylor and Irene Billings. Survivors include daughters, Rebecca B. Sage and husband, David, of Eden, N.C., Sharon B. Wright of Reidsville, N.C., Teresa Billings Whitlow of Reidsville, N.C., son, Robert C. " Bobby" Billings Jr. and wife, Lee Ann, of Winston-Salem, N.C.; grandchildren, Chelsie Marie Southard, Michelle Billings, Ashley Billings; brother, Carl Billings of Chase City, VA; and a sister, Wetona Billings of Chase City, VA. Memorials may be sent to The Rockingham County Honor Guard c/o Ray Kelly, 242 Strutton Lane, Eden, N.C. 27288. Citty Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
